To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee

5.0

I normally hate 'the classics' and other such critically acclaimed books, so I was really surprised by how much I enjoyed this. I was also surprised by how many different things the book was about - It's reputation as a book about race made me think that was the only subject it really concerned itself with, and while that's obviously the main subject, it was also about a whole range of issues in society that are still present today. This is one of the few 'critically acclaimed' books I've read that actually felt like it deserves its status.
