Ten Steps to Nanette: A Memoir Situation by Hannah Gadsby

5.0

Hannah Gadsby was born in Tasmania, and grew up in the 1990s, and this is a memoir that covers her early life and her eventual move into comedy, but it also tells the story of her (to me, un-settlingly familiar) experience with neuro-divergence and the many disturbing challenges she had faced as she has navigated her ASD and ADHD and how she incorporated these experiences into her groundbreaking and genre breaking show, Nanette.

I am a bit late to the party here, but this was heart-wrenching and funny in equal measure and I loved it. I did have to stop in the middle and actually go watch Nanette, which I wholeheartedly recommend, but after that, I just enjoyed it even more.
