This feels like it stretches back to the origins of ‘America’ and more pertinently to the modern colonialism (read: war) that Great Nation continues to partake in. The latter was intended, the former is mirrored.

A part of me feels like Lucas totally cribbed this for ROTJ—they drew from the same source, sure, but short furry indigenous peoples of a forest planet that includes the city of Endtor? (I’m joking of course)
