Gunmetal Magic by Ilona Andrews

4.0

4.5 stars

Like a lot of other Kate Daniels fans, I went into Gunmetal Magic looking forward to Andrea's story while at the same time being a little disappointed that I wouldn't get to hear about my favorite lion this round. But even with minimal Curran and Kate in this story, Ilona Andrews created another exciting tale with Gunmetal Magic that sucked me in from page one.

I've always liked Andrea, but this book definitely helped me to better understand why her and Kate are the best of friends. They're alike in a lot of ways -- stubborn, headstrong, and best of all kick-butt all-around. I was definitely drawn in by Andrea's story because I wanted to learn more about her, but also because her and Raphael's story has been going on in the background of all the other Kate Daniel's books, so it was nice to see them at the forefront this time.

But it's not all love and Spanish Soap Opera's (Kate's words). The action and solid story I've come to expect from any Kate Daniels book was definitely up to par and kept me guessing up until the end. It's good to see that Andrews can write not just about Kate but other stories within this world seemingly effortlessly.

Overall this was a great book, I really don't have any complaints. Like with most Kate Daniel's books, I find myself loving this world more and more every time I get another book and glimpse into it. I'm happy that Andrea and Raphael's story has finally come full circle but I'm definitely looking forward to another Kate and Curran book. Oh and next in the Kate Daniel's world should definitely be Roman -- I love him already! :)
