The Cat I Never Named: A True Story of Love, War, and Survival by Amra Sabic-El-Rayess, Laura L. Sullivan

I will admit that I didn’t know much about the Bosnian genocide when reading this book. I didn’t have much knowledge about what had happened but knew vaguely the events and how the war ended. This book, however, gives a chilling and intense first hand account of what was happening to the victims of genocide in Bihac, her home city in Bosnia. You will get sucked into the story and grow fond not only of the small, precious, daring kitty cat, but of even minor side characters, as Sabic is not only gifted with math and science but storytelling as well.
