God that was awful. I liked the beginning where she was trying to find her stalker and she detailed how the previous cases affected her; however, then she encountered her stalker in the middle of the book, and the rest was about covering up their murder. I had guessed who the murder was from the beginning.
(there were only two people to pick from because we had to be able to guess from the people in her life which left Dan and Jason. Obviously, it was Jason because he was the only one she had not previously talked to. Plus he seemed purely evil.)
I did not enjoy the second half where Pip was just in her fucking head and making stupid decisions. She became the monster that she was afraid she’d become.
I think that people can kill and be justified. In Pips case, I think she was not justified. She’s a white woman with more privilege than the poc that were framed for crimes. I think she could have called it self defense and gotten away with it. However, she decided to frame another horrible person, but that person was not a murder. He deserved jail time but not murder jail time. I don’t know. Also her pushing everyone away was just a way to punish herself.
This book made me hate her a lot. I previously liked her character so much.
