For some reason this reminded me of Komi Can't Communicate. It's similar in the way that the female protagonist is a really nice girl that wants to make friends but keep getting misunderstood. Unlike Komi who is worshipped by the class and has followers, Sawako is ostracized due to the misunderstandings. I'm really curious to see where this goes :)
