My Mechanical Romance by Alexene Farol Follmuth

5.0

I'm truly the biggest sucker for YA romance and this book was no exception!!

this book actually exceeded my expectations, every character (whether likeable or not) were truly compelling to read about. i appreciate how much the author made these teens and adults feel realistic. Bel's struggles are so well written because it's coming from her perspective, the wording gets messy and she gets confused sometimes about how she feels but no matter what you can still relate or empathize with how she feels. Teo's issues are easy to empathize with as well, he has the pressure to carry everyone (despite being in a club filled with capable people) and to be this great leader that it causes him to isolate himself from the group and make decisions for them even if they don't agree.
The side characters in this book really do a great job of driving home certain points, Mac and his misogynistic implications towards the girls in the group, Dash having his conversation about what his future holds and THE QUEEN HERSELF NEELAM (i loved her i swear i don't care if she was mean
