This book wasn't quite what I expected. A lot of little jobs for the detective, so the book didn't really have a "main" problem. It's set in Africa, which may contribute to the fact that it is written simply. They're talking in a couple different languages, but it's written completely in English so I feel there's some things that may have been left out.
The book kind of jumped around a bit, giving the history of the Detective and her family, to explain how she became who she is, and at times I felt a little like I was reading a history book vs a mystery. Unfortunately, I don't think this is a series for me.
