4.0

This has been the fourth book I've read from this author and, although it was not my favorite, I thought it was still great. This is a slice of life type of book, definitely thought-provoking, introspective and extremely slow-paced. Saramago's writing remains true to itself with a distinct, sarcastic, contemplative tone.
This story follows a year in the life of Ricardo Reis, a persona created by the Portuguese poet Fernando Pessoa. It explores the political climate in which our character lives and the relationships he develops with two very different women. Please be aware that this book has hardly no plot, but I believe that's the point.
