When I got approved to read Dark Tides on Netgalley I was so excited, then I noticed that it was book 2 of a trilogy. I hurried up and got book 1 on my kindle so I knew the story, and I am even more excited to Read book 2 after reading the first one.

If you love pirates, adventure, friendships, fantasy, and YA books then you really should think about reading this trilogy.

This book has three different POVs, Csilla, Kane and Lorelei. I thought at first, I would not like this book because I have had bad experiences with multiple POV but the way the author wrote this book it was not a challenge to understand what was going on or who was saying what. The plot of the book was well done but it was more of a character driven plot rather than it plot driven, but you see the plot forming right in front of your eyes while reading it. The pace was done very well, not too fast, or slow at the wrong times but keeps you wanting more and more of the book until you hit the end and say “Ah, I have to wait for the next book” The characters were easily relatable, easy to love and I was rooting for all of them to be winners. However, I did have my favorites. I loved Kane, for me he is that big bear who is all scary on the outside but deep down inside just would like to find someone to think of them other than that way.

The worldbuilding was done beautifully, I was able to picture everywhere she was talking about, but that is because she did an amazing job with those small and large details throughout the book.

Now that I have finished this book I am off to start book 2!
