This was a great way to start again after the last few stressful weeks. It was an easy and fun read. The writing style and the words were not complicated at all so I was easily breezing through the book which was great because I don’t want to read anything heavy yet (especially because of the last book I read). Basically I was in the right mood for this.

However, I do understand why the average ratings are the way that it is. It was a fun read but something about the plot was kind of inconsistent. I love the characters though and their group dynamics despite the fact they’ve only gotten together now (except for the other two). By the third act though I was legitimately expecting something really awful
(I really thought Stacey was going to backstab them to make the story more interesting lmao)
was going to happen but it was only relevant for a quick second. It should’ve been prolonged longer but this book is only less than 300 pages so I guess it’s understandable.

On a positive note, this book was fun to read. It’s got vampires, mortal-vampire romance, a sapphic couple, exes of the same asshole turned besties. It’s got lowkey body horror and lots of mentions of mommy issues though so be ready for that.

Nevertheless, this was a great start after my last two weeks of pure hell to work on my thesis. I am planning to read another one of the author’s book too so can’t wait for that!
