This book absolutely blew my poor little book-loving brains out my ears! I mean, I know everyone calls Agatha Christie the queen of mystery but come on! The Murder of Roger Ackroyd is a divergence from her usual fair and, oh boy, this book benefits because of it. Dr. James Sheppard seems familiar to us in the ways that characters like Captain Hastings and Dr. John Watson do -- smart, affable, and just so slightly restless. And Dr. James Sheppard is an honest man, right? . . . Right? Thanks in no small part to the absolutely jaw-dropping narration courtesy of Hugh Fraser, The Murder of Roger Ackroyd has and will continue to have me shook.
