Aftershock by Sylvia Day

3.0

I finally figured out why I don't like Sylvia Day's books ... the characters. The writing in this book was amazing, as always, and the sex scenes were really hot, but I had a really hard time dealing with the characters. I really hated Jax in this book, he was arrogant and a jackass from the start, until nearly the end of the book, and I guess this book was all about how Jax was supposed to became better person because of Gia, but that doesn't happen until the last 10 pages of the books so it was really annoying reading pages and pages of Jax being an idiot and Gia having to deal with it.

It seemed to me that Jax and Gia were only together because of their great chemistry and amazing sex. Gia says that since they had been living together they didn’t talk about her work or his work, and he also he won’t talk about his family and their secrets, so … what DID they talked about?

Another thing that bothered me was how rushed their relationship was, how do you move in with someone after dating them for about a month and a half? 2 months later and they are going to get married... it just doesn’t make sense to me!

There is so much more I could talk about but I’ll leave it at that.
