This book may be large, but it is an incredibly quick read. The writing style is very different from Maas's other adult series, as it is set in a contemporary, fantasy city. While I would say the most compelling part of this story was the main character's personal growth after the loss of a friend, I enjoyed the murder mystery plot that ran throughout.
