The second Mordred was introduced I knew there was going to a love triangle (I hate love triangles but it's not the worst one I've seen 😑) . Mordred and Arthur were both good guys but in all honesty the book focuses on Guinevere so much that they did not feel as solid as characters to me. I did dislike the reveal that Guinevere was actually sent to Camelot to be protected not protect Arthur . I liked the magic of knots although sometimes the book would feel the need to explain the magic when I was able to figure out the rules without being told. The book kind of skips over the kingdom/court politics in favor of the magic stuff which is fine but I like that sort of stuff. I liked that the author used some of the King Arthur myth and added new details too. It made the story more interesting and unpredictable in a way that some retellings or stories "inspired" by myths or fairytales fail to do.
