Rage by Richard Bachman

2.5

Rage is an odd duck of a book in that it contains some surprisingly strong prose (no idea who this "Richard Bachman" character was but the dude could certainly write), but reads somewhat more like a theatrical play than a novel, with its contrived central premise and character monologues that would probably come across better on the stage. Reminds me somewhat of Lord of the Flies, in that it depicts a group of young people faced with a situation in which the old rules that bind them are suddenly ripped away, but Rage's conclusions are much less staid than that work, much more nebulous.
