I don't know if I truly enjoyed reading this so much as enjoyed the idea of it, but I'll be thinking about this book for a long time. Interesting to now see what ideas Adrian Tchaikovsky tends to cover now that I've read many of his works. I didn't like the male MC much, but the spider storyline was consistently engaging and the concept of Kern was fantastic.
