I listened to the audio while following along in ebook ...
I liked this, but I did not love it.
I have to say that the first half was slow to me, and I truly disliked the MCs. I did not understand what was going on. The story seemed to have begun with the biased behavior from Levi towards Bee. There was literally no context.
And, though, I could chop this up to this being a type of suspense to keep the reader engaged into finding out what exactly is going on ... it was not the case with me.
After everything was laid out in the 2nd half, I understood what was going on between the MCs, especially where Levi was coming from.
I was also a little skeptical on where the "Shmac" came from ... I wish there would have been a transition on that ... I felt it was thrown in there ... a random person Bee was chatting with.
I loved the story in the end, but I felt the pace and the flatness in the characters had created such a low "uncaring" vibe for me, that it was not enough make up for it.
I do have to say that I was not expecting that major twist, and I am glad that I stuck around to finishing the book to find that out.
