Brain on Fire: My Month of Madness by Susannah Cahalan

5.0

Intrinsic and riveting, Cahalan takes readers through her intimate relationship with a rare autoimmune disorder. Her journalism experience flaunts itself through her thorough approach to understanding as well as relating critical information about her illness. While reading this novel, I felt informed, perplexed, and was left in complete disbelief at times. While her story has a happy ending, she humbly acknowledges that others are not as lucky.

If you enjoy neuroscience or psychology but don’t have the time to take a course... I highly suggest this book. She turns an incredibly complex situation into a book that is understandable and relatable.
