This story is like a sweet cup of hot tea! A story you pick up when you want something quietly comforting. A story that is simple and endearing. During the pandemic our FMC’s three adult daughters come back home to their Michigan cherry farm. Yes, a cherry farm! And they beg her to relive her past and tell them the story of when she dated a famous actor. I listened to this one in audio because I had too once I knew that Meryl Streep performs the audio! Her performance brings this story to life and I recommend consuming this story exclusively in audio - which I don’t say often. There were so many understated and quiet revelations about life, getting older, love, and family. There is no huge climax in this story, no huge tension, and there are several long scenes where you just sit with the beauty of the cherry farm but gosh oh gosh. When you want a story like that… this is where you need to turn too.
