Capitana is a Latinx inspired pirate/pirate hunter book with some of my favourite things; a female character that is physically and emotionally strong (even if Ximena had a cult-like devotion to the Law) , a skewed understanding of politics & justice and of course PIRATES! It was an enjoyable read, though I think Ximena's character development came really late in the book. Dante's new mission really makes me want the second book as soon as possible.
