A three-star book in the best way. Quick, engaging, and page-turning, but also formulaic, flat, and unchallenging. However, with all of McMahon's books, there's always just enough vibey prose and plot twists that even the snobbiest of readers will probably see it through 'till the end.

I could tell that it was early McMahon writing - her later stuff is much richer in depth and style. That being said, you won't catch me saying another bad thing about her. Keep writing these addicting little ghost stories and I will continue to devour them like candy!
