Killing Lincoln: The Shocking Assassination That Changed America Forever
by Bill O'Reilly, Martin Dugard
After reading Killing Kennedy and being bummed that I already knew most of what was in the book, I've now determined that I just am too much of a nerd to be surprised by books about the famous assassinations. I read the book Manhunt a while ago, which broke down Booth's escape in great detail, so I yet again found myself not finding out a whole lot of new info on that end. What made this better than Killing Kennedy, in my opinion, was the insight into what was happening in Lincoln's world BEFORE the assassination. Those details provided some context that I'd previously not known, plus I can't help but geek out about research on an event 100 years before Kennedy's death.
Bill O'Reilly may not be a great human being, but his books are at least entertaining.
