The 7 1/2 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle
by Stuart Turton
I really enjoyed this audiobook, but I think this may be one that is more enjoyable being read physically. I say this because it’s such a complex plot with many characters that play important roles. The character stories are all intertwined and at some parts things can get muddled and I must admit I had to go back and listen to a few pages again because there was a lot going on.
It’s such a cleverly thought out plot and quite unique. I gave it four stars and not five because of how it ended. I really enjoy open ended books, but just some things that happen between Anna and Aiden leave me feeling a bit disappointed. Anna’s last actions are just unforgivable and I can’t fathom how Aiden would put himself through all of that torture simple to “want to forget” when he spent so much time trying to find justice for Evelyn, when he thought Evelyn was being forced to kill herself.
