Sorry Not Sorry
by Sophie Ranald
My simple summary: I enjoyed it! There were parts that made my giggle, parts that made me sad & parts that made my heart warm.
As the blurb says, “Charlotte isn’t just stuck in a rut- she’s buried in it up to her chin.” She’s blatantly belittled at her corporate job, single, watching her best friend plan a wedding & lose herself in the process- & as a result, struggling to connect with her best friend. She’s just all feeling defeated. However, Charlotte finds some fun inspiration in a podcast titlled (you guessed it) Sorry Not Sorry, which is a woman encouraging women to own themselves, build confidence & put themselves out there through a series of challenges, like asking for a stranger’s number & buying lacy lingerie.
For soOoOome reason, it reminded me of The Devil Wears Prada?? (Which is a movie I absolutely love, by the way, definitely a good connection in my opinion). I’m going to guess that’s because of the whole heroine-transforms-into-a-total-confident-knockout-but-maybe-also-loses-some-of-the-goodness-in-her-in-the-process thing?
