Heldendämmerung: Wie moderne Gesellschaften mit umstrittenen Denkmälern umgehen by Alex von Tunzelmann, Alex von Tunzelmann

2.0

Unfortunately, the book is not quite what the (German) title promises. Instead of presenting data and solutions on how modern society deals with controversial statues, the main part of the book presents 12 statues and their history. The introduction and conclusion only shortly touches on general arguments made against the destruction of statues and how one could counter these, but overall it falls short of giving a general overview of the arguments and perspectives surrounding statues and their history/future, which I was looking forward to the most.
(And even for history lovers the chapters are too short and shallow to be satisfying.)
