Little Stranger by Leigh Rivers
2.5
"I wanted to hold her hand and kiss her whenever I wanted. I was never normal enough for her, the freak without a voice. Our parents hated me, I was the adopted kid they never should’ve signed for. She was the angel, still is to me, despite everything and I was the mistake." - Malachi
Do I agreed with how the characters treated each other? NO
Do I feel for Malachi in the last chapter? YES
Did I think the writing or the way the story was written good? Absolutely not, this book had so many plot holes and unexpected behavior and situation.
Did I love the audiobook and listened to it in a few hours? YES
I just think this book missed a lot, and there are so many things that just don't make sense or were ever explained and a lot of thinks were just forgotten. This book feels very empty and rushed, hopefully the second book can be better, I probably will listen to that one too. Why is Olivia forced to marry someone by her parents? How can their dad just be okay with what happened? Malachi isn't the only one that's guilty, she was there too. What do you mean the parents didn't know Malachi was like this, it was obvious since the beginning that he is obsessed and has trauma from a very young age but they just didn't see their children, they never cared about their son, so why adopt him? Why only care about their daughter?
- I don't agree with any behavior in this book and the only reason I didn't DNF it was because of the Audiobook. If you read the trigger warnings and don't like them, then this book is not for you but don't send hate to the writer. This is fictional but sending hate to the author that is real life.
