Good to Great: Why Some Companies Make the Leap...and Others Don't by Jim Collins

When I first started reading this, I was excited by the data they had put together and the methodology they were using. It reminded me a bit about the part I enjoy most of my job; piecing together a bunch of data to tell a story that everyone can understand. After about 100 pages though, I was done with the book. Turns out I just don't care enough about going through the data showing what makes companies great with a fine tooth comb. After the first couple of chapters, you're learning about the same companies again and again and the anecdotes become similar. I have no desire to ever become a senior executive at a company, but I didn't really find this information something you could duplicate. Maybe some pieces you can, but not the whole thing.
