What Lies in the Woods by Kate Alice Marshall

4.0

I usually don’t gravitate towards thrillers because they always feel a bit ‘empty’ to me: I see them as entertaining, fast reads, but after you read them once you just move on and never think about them again. Yet the few times I do read thrillers I end up in hours-long reading marathons because I just NEED to find out what happened, and this one was no different. It interested me especially because it centers on the darker sides of female friendship, which is a topic I enjoy exploring. Also I was deep in a reading slump and I figured a book like this would get me out of one, and it worked. So maybe I need to stop judging thrillers and try them a little more often.
