Cows by Matthew Stokoe
2.5
dark sad medium-paced
Strong character development: No
Loveable characters: No
Diverse cast of characters: No
Flaws of characters a main focus: Yes

there are some bones of a good premise here- the loneliness epidemic, how abuse makes the real world feel impossible, working for a living is a meat grinder, groupthink always ends in violence.
it was constantly just out of reach for me. past a point the shock horror isn't shocking anymore, just immature.
there were some powerful passages, but the ending was very weak.
