Tyrant's Throne by Sebastien de Castell

5.0

Oh, for the love of Saint Castell who-writes-sappy-endings-that-are-still-good! With every one of these books there are small sections where I have doubts. Sections where I think Castell is too long getting to the point or perhaps too in love with his complicated scenarios but these doubts are easily swept away. His endings are exactly what I am looking for. In my most active book club on Goodreads (do I capitalize that?) we had a discussion about endings and if happy and satisfying are mutually exclusive or if happy just belongs in YA. These books are the ones I can point to with both.

Massively sentimental, a true buddy story to its core, I have thoroughly enjoyed all 4 of these books and this one ended just about perfectly. Like Marko Kloos, I don't think Castell gets near enough love for the books he writes. I can't read another one because there isn't one but I would recommend this to anyone.
