You know, I did like this one. It's a mix of every successful trope used in Christie novels prior. The secret bigamy, the culprit commissions Poirot, the false corpse, among others. It's a Frankenstein of her works, so identifiable as Christie, and such an enjoyable read.
I will say that Poirot's melodrama felt ill-paced at times, but his rareanger, resorting to intimidation, and moral disagreement was so refreshing. It's not one I'd recommend as a first read for Poirot, but it's a treat for those reading in sequence!
