I enjoyed this book up until the end, which is always disappointing. I'm not a big mystery reader, and the majority of this book wasn't that - alternate London, shapeshifting, a society segregated by magic, all great - but then the ending just turns into reveal after reveal after reveal that just weren't set up enough for me to care about. nothing felt like a satisfying reveal because I wasn't really invested in the other relationships or following a trail of clues, they just happened.
