We read this as part of a theme of books made into movies/TV shows. This was first published in 1929 and it certainly was a more sexist world in 1929. I'm thankful for progress. The main character is a womanizing detective and I can't really figure out why the women liked him. Weird. Anyway, it's a quick read and interesting to see what was novel then. I still need to see the movie...
