Sandworms of Dune by Brian Herbert, Kevin J. Anderson

1.0

Another poor effort form Mr. Herbert and Mr. Anderson.
Once again this book reads as if it was assembled from a collection of tidbits. A couple pages written here a few written there. The authors are EXTREMELY repetitious. It as if each section was written as a standalone story. So they wanted to fill you in on what happened outside of this particular section. When they joined all these separate items into a book they did not read it through from beginning to end and cut the repeats.
The characterization is extremely flawed and way off. The Bene Gesserit have grown far weaker and less BG like over the many years since Muad D'ib.
For me the worst part of the book is the characterization of the young Gholas. They pine for a life they do not know and have not lived before their memories are restored. Yes there is pressure on them to become what they were and hopefully save humanity, but this is grossly done. None of the gholas rebell (and what teenager doesn't?).
Particularly bad is Jessica's shock/heart break when the ghola of Leto is destroyed before birth. It's written as if she has lost the love of her life. But form her point of view it's a of an unborn child. The love of Jessica & Leto is a story like Romeo & Juliet. It is not something that she has experienced (yet).
