Its the type of book i am really interested in and definitely kept me hooked. I LOVE eastern europe plot lines and characters, i find they always interest me and hold my attention. I enjoyed the style of writing and the way the story flowed into different perspectives and different generations of the family so smoothly. Very much reminded me of the Century series i've read previously by Ken Follet-which i loved. I just dont think i was fully ready for a book with such harsh emotion and so full of regret, especially straight after reading my fantasy romance books. However i did think it was an amazing book which obviously had incredible thought behind it
