Just for the Summer by Abby Jimenez

"Sometimes I feel like the seasons could come and go and come and go, a hundred years could pass, a thousand, the ground could collapse under us, this house could crumble and go back to the earth, and we would still be standing here frozen in time, because every second I'm with you is eternal. I've never felt anything like it."
-Justin

SUMMARY:
Justin and Emma both have relationship curses: every woman Justin dates finds her soulmate after they break up, and Emma's relationships end disastrously. They decide to date each other, hoping their curses will cancel out. As they plan a summer fling in Minnesota, unexpected challenges arise, including Emma's toxic mother and Justin's sudden guardianship of his siblings. Despite the chaos, they start developing genuine feelings for each other, questioning if Fate has finally brought them together.

MY THOUGHTS 💭
Okay, first things first: I’ve got some major beef with whoever designed this cover. It’s seriously misleading, and they totally knew it! 😂 I mean, the synopsis, cover, and title had me thinking I was diving into a cute little summer romance. But let me tell you, this book is anything but your typical rom-com. It’s an emotional rollercoaster in the best freaking way possible.

Seriously, guys, this book had me giggling, blushing, laughing, falling in love, devastated, scared - you name it! I was on the edge of my seat until the literal last page.

I’m giving this a solid 6-star rating and would recommend it to anyone! Abby Jimenez knows how to write romance like nobody else, and I’m totally here for it.

I was completely invested in Justin and Emma’s relationship. He’s the epitome of “if he wanted to, he would.” Their love was unique and beautiful, but let me tell you, there were moments where I wanted to shake some sense into Emma (you’ll understand once you read the book).

Between their relationship, friends and family drama, this book kept me hooked. I loved how the characters persevered through it all (almost all of them 😅🤦🏼‍♀️). They feel like real people to me now, and they’ll definitely stay in my heart forever! 💕
