Open Water by Caleb Azumah Nelson

4.0

this is one of the three novels that has made me cry this year. and i think that in particular, this one stunned me for a reason the others do not contain: it is second person, through the lens of a black young adult in london. i truly have not read anything as poetic as this book, honestly. the way it can magically describe everyday experiences and how being in love feels. i recommend it to everyone, especially if you want to diversify your taste, and for literary fiction lovers.
