The Story of a New Name by Elena Ferrante

4.0

Here, Elena and Lila’a relationship expands, grows ever more complicated and rich. I am impressed at how Ferrante effortlessly reaches the core of the feelings that drive the two, universal feelings of love and the need to be loved, insecurity, jealousy. For me, these books demand to be read all at once, and after another—Ferrante wields the gravity of these feelings in ways both expansive and attentive to the characters, that sweeps the reader up, too.
