I'm Glad My Mom Died

This was an eye opening memoir about Jeanette Mccurdy’s life from childhood to now. She gives the viewer her pov of the harsh world of child performers. To add to that, a huge chunk of her reality is being the child of a narcissistic parent and being taught to live up to the parent’s expectations at all cost. Her battle in overcoming the toxic / abusive habits taught to her by her mom was a true emotional WHIRLWIND. Matter of fact, this entire book was an emotional rollercoaster in of itself (especially the other relationships in her life). Her character on Nickelodeon has changed a lot in my mind now that I know some of her back story. I ate this up. Jeannette is more than Sam Puckett. I’m honored that she shared her life with us. I think I was even more touched while listening to her narrate it and hearing the raw emotions from the source. I hope nothing but the best for her and am inspired by her journey. 5/5 would recommend.
