If you’ve been here awhile you know I’m a BIG Vee Taylor fan. If she’s written it, I’ve read it! She is taking a leap into her hockey romance era, and I am here for it!! Your Pucking Mom was so great and a little unexpected, but it made me love it even more. I don’t think I will ever look at a skate guard the same way. I also love that her books always handle a difficult subject in the most amazing and protective way. Her account of a SA and how a survivor endures was so real and powerful.
Auburn is a young single mom who has sacrificed everything to give her son his dream. All of that is starting to pay off when he gets drafted to the NHL at 18. Since he is still so young Auburn uproots her life to make sure he keeps his head on straight and doesn’t find his way into trouble. But, she can’t help but wonder when she will finally get to have a little bit of her own life again.
Ledger is a GRUMP! He’s had a great hockey career, but an injury has helped him to see that maybe hockey won’t be his life for much longer, but then what? Hockey is all he’s ever known. Until he sees a woman on the sidewalk crying, and everything changes.
Thank you Vee Taylor and The Author Agency for allowing me to read this ARC. These are my honest opinions.
