Multiple POVs of two seperate storylines and BOTH are engaging? Yes please sign me up right now. Absolutely loved how well written these characters are, as it is truly a skill to have your readers care about the side characters and their romance as much as the main characters.
The enemies torelatives arc with the 500 year old monster in Elspeth’s body and her boyfriend is amazing and I did eat up every single second of it.
I will say that the ending felt a little rushed. I wish we had more time with Elspeth and Ravyn after she got control of her own body back. And, for all the talk about how magic takes and comes at a cost, there was little cost. They lifted the mist with very few repercussions, it sort of felt too tidy as an ending; almost unbelievable given the characters as a whole really didn’t have to sacrifice anything in the end.
