Heart Bones by Colleen Hoover

Listen...I'm a coho girl through and through. I've never really understood all the hate she receives for her writing, BUT I won't sugarcoat my reviews just because I like the author.

I had no connection to this book whatsoever. Usually, I can find pieces of myself reflected in the mc or even just get caught up in feeling the pain or joy they feel. This mc was the QUEEN of "poor me". I get it - you were poor. Your mom was an addict. Your dad was mia. Okay. Got it. Point made. The more you wallow in your shitty situation the more you become the root of the problem.

The whole book just felt like some poorly filmed indie movie trying to be "different" and "edgy". Even Sampson...the only thing I really liked about him...was his name.

Definitely read way better by coho and was let down by this one. :/
