I didn't write a review the first time I read this series, so this review is based on my re-read and may (will likely) contain some spoilers for books later in the series.
SJM is a mastermind. I cannot understand how the first time reading through this book she made us love Tamlin so much. I thought he was so swoony while reading ACOTAR the first time and this entire reread he just gave me the ick.. Now i'll be completely honest, I actually thought before rereading there would be a chance that I would fall back in love with Tamlin even knowing what happens in ACOMAF because that's just the kind of person I am. But, NO, I honest to goodness wanted to skip ahead through the first half of this book, because I wanted to get to the "there you are i've been looking for you" part and the "you dare glamour me!?" part and the deal part. Essentially, the only parts I wanted to read was Rhys LOL. Which - fair, I'll give myself that, but reading this time though all I could see was a walking red flag when I was reading about TamTam and I just wanted it over.
My first read through, this was a five star - I'm not going to change that rating because that's genuinely how I felt the first time. But my second read through I would probably rate it a 4 star, simply because Rhysand is the far superior male in every single way.
