Grave Peril by Jim Butcher

5.0

This is the book where the series really takes off for me- it shifts from a fun time to a seriously good read that gets my feels going, too. It introduces probably two of my favorite side characters in Michael Carpenter and Thomas Raith. It kicks off a major arc for the next several books, it shows that Harry, while extremely flawed, truly is a good man and he acts on his principles, no matter the consequences. It takes us into the Nevernever the first time, and we finally get to meet Harry's wicked faerie Godmother, Lea, who is also fantastic, as well. All in all, it's an excellent read and it has me teary-eyed by the end. And no matter how many times I've read it, I just can't put it down.
