A spinster in dire financial straits and hermit scholar embark on a treasure hunt. He's intelligent, nerdy and a bit reclusive while she's outspoken and impulsive. Their romance is a bit of a mixed bag - they have solid chemistry but I felt that the trust issues between them were draggy, and I really struggled with her flip flopping and her double standards when it comes to omitting truths.

I liked him a lot more, he's more honest on where he stands, and he's actually quite sweet and very protective towards her. Though they have some great moments together, the romance feels a little flat, only picking up at 60% through. The treasure hunt is entertaining and a lot of fun! Overall, it's a decent book but a stronger romance would've made it a lot better.
