“You and me against the world, princess.”

“Men. They always ruined it by opening their mouths.”

“We always end up where we're meant to be.”

This delivered exactly what I was looking for. The spice level was excellent. There was only one aspect of the spice I didn't like but everyone's different, obviously. Otherwise, it was excellent. I was also genuinely intrigued by the conflict and how they were going to come to a resolution. I had sort of guessed part of a twist but wasn't entirely accurate so the plot twists were still kind of fun.

The characters are a carbon copy of the characters from the first book. I'm not too mad about it because, while there was decent character development, that's not why I read this book. The plot was enough to keep me interested. I somehow liked the plot of this book better than the first one, even though most of the elements are the same. Somehow the princess and bodyguard trope felt more believable than student/photographer and millionaire CEO with dirt on everyone.

Overall, I'm really enjoying this series and will definitely be continuing. Know that this is definitely a darker romance in that the MMC is very possessive and dominates the FMC in a lot of ways. If that's not your jam, this is not for you.
