An incredible biography. James Baldwin is my favorite writer because he is so much more than an author or artist: he’s an icon. I sought this out for the forthcoming biopic based on this book, and I cannot wait to see it. Highly, highly recommend if you have an interest in Baldwin, the Civil Rights Movement, or understanding the complex mind of an artist.
