This book fucked me up. Haunting, desolate, sad, confusing. The descriptions in this book are so vivid and the metaphors that Han utilizes are extremely effective. There are times when I’ve felt like I could experience what the narrator was feeling. There is this one passage about how the snow does not melt on the coldness of a dead body that shook me to my core.
Plot-wise, there is still much that I do not understand, but it’s very compelling. There is a lot of inherited grief and trauma that doesn’t receive a tidy resolution and it sticks with you.
